A two-day event called “Green Sport” was held at the Sports Hall Streliste, on the 19th and 20th June, 2019.
30 children from Resita (Romania) and over 50 children from Pancevo, age 10-15, participated in this sporting event. On the first day there was a joint training of all teams and age groups, while the second day was reserved for 2 mini-handball matches for the youngest participants and later for older boys and girls handball matches.
Within this project, funded by the European Union through the Program Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Romania-Serbia, the Sports Hall has been energy-rehabilitated and 50-year-old thermo mechanical installations have been reconstructed.
This sports facility is used by athletes from the regional surrounding municipalities and its rehabilitation is of importance for several southern Banat municipalities. The hall hasn’t changed its outside looks, but the inside conditions of the hall have improved significantly for athletes and visitors.
This event represents symbolically giving away the Sports Hall to young generations, rehabilitated, in order to improve their sports skills and nurture good relations with Resita, a sister town for over 30 years.
