Works started on the Sports Hall in Pancevo, in accordance with the dynamics of realization of the activities on the project “Energy Efficiency – The Premise of a Better Environment”.
On this occasion, City Manager, Maja Vitman, came to the works site and presented the upcoming activities on the project:
– Rehabilitation of the Sports Hall in the city of Pancevo is one of the important topics us, on behalf of which we have applied for funds under the cross-border cooperation program “INTERREG IPA CBC” with our cross-border partner in this project, the Municipality of Resica from Romania. The foreseen works include replacement of joinery, insulation of walls and roof and installation of heating and cooling equipment. The old joinery above the battlefield, surface of 275 m2, will be replaced by a new, aluminum one. The side walls and roof will be covered with 10 cm thick aluminum panels, and the old built-in air conditioner chamber from 1969 will be replaced by a new one that will run on two air-water heat pumps. By installing heat pumps besides the more efficient heating, for the first time cooling of the Sports hall will be enabled.
The value of this joint project with our partner is about 1,353,167.55 euro, and the budget of the city of Pančevo, for this overall project, is 792,776.25 euros. For the implementation of the investment, the contracted value of works amounted to about 607,000.00 euros, which would be about RSD 73 million in the RSD counter value. Also, we should mention the co financing of the city that is about 11 million dinars, for which we applied to Autonomous Province of Vojvodina for co-financing for this kind of project and got 4 million dinars.
After finishing the works, athletes and spectators will have much better conditions in the Hall itself, and local government will reduce maintenance costs through reduced bills for heating and cooling.
The planned works will last for 90 days. In August, we expect Hall Sports to have the new look, ready for the next sport season.
The expected result is an energy class C compared to the current class E. In this way, the main objective of the project is achieved, contribution to energy efficiency, renewable energy useand reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The works will be implemented by the contractor is “Alfaco Inženjering” from Cacak who got a contract on an international tender published under the PRAG procedure for financing the external activities of the European Union.
